Trail opening information source?

Sorry for the noob question...

Where is the best place to find out when/if trails are open? I wasted alot of time Saturday driving to several trail heads that I knew of only to find closed gates at every one.

I figure there has to be some source of info on the net somewhere... I'm just not sure where to look. Thanks.

It seems that most of the trails on forest service land are closed until at least June 1st. The only ones I know of that are open right now are Carnage Canyon and Yankee Hill, which are on public land (at least I believe Carnage is).

That was pretty much what I was looking for, but they don't seem to have many listed.

For example, I went to Middle St. Vrain trail, Coney Flats, and two that started with Caribou. All north of Nederland.
