The Silver Arrow

Well the S4 is out. We really loved it and it was a nice clean example, but at the end of the day it was just two small. So we took it up a notch, grabbed this C6 S6 from California. Two owner, previous CPO, 85k on the ticker, 436 hp lambo V10. Just picked it up from tint today, really loving this thing. I do not have much planned for it, it's pretty slick in current form.

Re: The Silver Arrow

Is that the direct injected v10? I think you really gotta keep up on the intake decarbs or they can develop some expensive carbon issues. Looks clean tho. I bet that thing is comfy for some long cruises.

Re: The Silver Arrow

Thanks guys. Yes, these things are subject to the carbon buildup. Really one of the only known issues with the motor, it is a tank otherwise. I just had it in with Audi and there were no concerns, so it's in good shape there.

It was in the plan to replace the black A4. I did a 3:1 swap with this one, so we'll still come out ahead.

Re: The Silver Arrow

Not much to update, just keeping up with maintenance mostly. Needed air filters and a new pcv valve. I did throw a Milltek exhaust on it. Guy down in Parker was parting one out and could not find a buyer for the exhaust. So the day before he took it to the crusher $350 was better than $0 (he was asking $800). This is a $2,000 system brand new, so I couldn't pass it up. The upper control arm bushings are gone so I may do a full Meyle CA kit up front and some Koni Gold FSD's. I put that setup on the A4 and loved it.

It's a nice velvety sound for sure. It's a little quieter than it would normally be though. There should be replacement pipes where the stock resonators are. The PO mated the stock resonators to the catback in place of those pipes. So it has both the stock and Milltek resonators.

Finally got the rings back in the engine bay. If you notice when I bought it they were missing. This must be a common problem as 99% of used covers out there are missing them. A new one is $130, which isn't terrible but I wanted a used one so it would blend with the rest of the engine plastics.
