I have a 86 xj with a AX4 and a 207 trans case.
When I put the case in 4 hi or 4 low, when I start out it makes a realy bad noise like a clicking grinding noise. I was wondering if my t-case is bad or would my 4:10 be to low for the 207? And how hard would it be to change the 4 sp. and the t-case out for a AW4 and a 231 or 242. But if I go with the 242 will it have the part time crap in it. Like in my 91 larado xj? I like the 4 in or just 2wd. Any and all suggestions I would like to hear. I spent to much time building it to let it crap out on me!
