Mom stopped in for me to check her Freon level, says it's a bit warm.

Hooked up the gauge and it's pegged into the red, overcharged. I'm assuming this needs to be evac'd and refilled? Or can it be evac'd to the proper operating level?

Appreciate input.. thanks.

Thanks tripled..

I have the cheap gauge that comes with the Freon cans, not a dual dial gauge setup so no way to hook to high side to check pressure. Just the low side port.

Some auto parts offer a rental gauge kit.
Otherwise, since there seems to be plenty of freon, a trip to a decent shop should not cost much.
