driveshafts and rear axles

Do all XJ, regardless of year and rear axle choice, use the same rear driveshaft?

Are all t-case tailshafts the same length? Do the D35, D44, and both versions of the 8.25 all take the same size u-joint at the pinion? If I was to, for example, swap out my 27 spline 8.25, would a 29 spline, or a D44 swap right in with no changes to the driveshaft? Thanks.

all i know for sure is a 5 spd will have a longer shaft than an auto by almost an inch when you have the same rear axle... i believe the D35 has a shorter pinion so that would mean a longer shaft or just more usage of the slip yoke... the u-joints are all 1310s though...
