I've got a 4.0 removed from a 1987 Jeep Comanche MJ pickup.
It has 108,000 miles on it, and came out of Jakeman17/Automan2164's 87

This thing ran better than any 4.0 I've ever had. I hate to part with it, but I'm out of the game, and the next motor going in my 88 will be a stroker built off of it's 260,000 mile block. I just don't need it, and won't be buying any more cherokees or comanches.
Pics are available, I just have to move a few things.
It only needs a rear main seal and a valve cover gasket. Everything else is in good order, has typical crack on exhaust manifold, but otherwise, a complete with accessories running motor with no mechanical issues.
The block itself can be used in any 87-2001 4.0 xj or mj, but you need to either do some porting or swap the head to put it in a H.O.
