OEM info sources?

I'm new to this forum, and I am having difficulty locating certain information about my '96 XJ (4.0, auto, np243 (241?) Xcase). Currently I'm trying to find out what the stock suspension travel is. I've looked up replacement OEM shocks like Bilstein, but no manufacturer that I've looked at has any of the specifications for the shock absorber listed.

Can anyone direct me to a specific resource where I can answer a lot of my own questions? Thanks in advance.
