Dunno if any of you have been following this story for the past several months, but here's a video of a couple guys that went up to the vehicle for the owner to get a status report and remove the snow from the inside in hopes it helps it dry out before the recovery effort.......

Here's the thread where the owner has posted what happened that resulted in the L.C. getting to where it is:

And here's the post by the owner with his side of the story if you don't wanna fish through the entire thread:

Ouch. A lot of people in that thread don't seem to have any concept of how much snow is up there right now. Sure, there's lots of bare rock around the 80, but 10 feet of snowpack below it. Last year the upper cut on the Hall Valley side still wasn't passable on the Fourth of July and the other side is North-facing and gated till whenever.

It's gonna be up there for a while longer. Best idea I saw was to sled in Mattracks one corner at a time. Or just wait.

That would suck to have your rig up on the mountain all Winter. At least it's not destroyed...yet.

Indeed.

I imagine one of the bigger issues is gonna be just how much of that snow melts into the dash/electronics and what problems that might cause. The warmer it gets, the more the interior will thaw..... Wonder what it looks like under the hood - if that's all packed tight with snow too?

It'll be interesting to see if a new battery will be enough to fire it up and drive it out of there after being assisted off the hill......

Stupid question....why snow inside? Did a window break?

Posting from the owner says that when he left the vehicle, he unknowingly left one of the door windows open about an inch or so...... The guys that went up in that video commented that they were surprised to NOT find a broken window with as much snow as had gotten inside.....

The pics on that forum no longer exist. The only pic I could find is the one I posted above.

The video link in my post is a youtube link....... You shouldn't have a problem with seeing that.....:dunno:

EDIT: Cool! The second vid of their efforts to prep the L.C. has been posted by Kittrell. (Thanks DJ )
