We went for a drive on a "dirt road," after we found it. Most of the group actually met up on CR43. We were wandering, lost, looking for a road that was not marked. As events unfolded, one person was able to pull up a map on his phone and find Saddlestring Road. Everyone was at least 20 minutes late, which is well within the normal 30 minute B.S. window. :)

In attendance was Team Hypoid, Team Akelts, and Jonathon Terry, who saw the run listed on Facebook.

Akelts' XJ, with two of his team members running security. :)

My thrift store camera had a problem, forcing me to the backup thrift store camera, so these are the pictures I have.

To wrap up the report, we had a blast!

The weather started with rain, which gave way to hazy and overcast, which turned to rain, which turned to thunder and lightening with sleet, small hail, and corn snow. By the time we got back to the trail head, the sky was blue and the sun felt warm on our faces.

While we were airing down, a guy with an old HMMV rolled up, he tagged along with our group most of the way. I never did get his name, but we enjoyed watching that beast cover the terrain.

Jonathon moved to Colorado over the winter. This was his third trail run since moving here. Eric volunteered to spot him through the picture opportunities. :)

Aaron and Eric brought two of their youngsters down from Leadville to drive this dirt road. I'm glad they got to have some fun.

Jeremy and I had a blast! I told Jeremy this is an easy trail, he decided to come so he can "get used to the Jeep again." I think he'll never get used to being off camber. :D

For myself, I am perfectly content to get my small and dainty XJ through a trail without any carnage. I finally got it twisted out enough that everyone knows my axles are (still) open/open. The rain on the rocky climb added to the entertainment value. :)

Hopefully Aaron and Eric can get some videos posted up for us.

Great pictures! I think the weather must've scared some people away but seems like a good group!

Thanks Mike - so can this one be done with a stock XJ ?

I think some of us who didn't show are in the middle of working our our Jeeps including me.

Can pics be shared on social? Good job guys!

Absolutely! Maybe Aaron will see the picture of his XJ and pester Eric for some videos to post. ;)

Love the pics Hypoid. I just have a few since I was busy driving. I will bug Eric to post some of his pics and vids, but not sure if he will post up on the forum, Facebook is tons easier to share media on

Post them on the chapter Facebook page, somebody knows how to link them here. :)

I should have a bit of time this weekend (I'm travelling and what not) so I should be able to catch up and do some cross posting.
