If you would like to donate to our build please contact me. We have a great list of parts but we are still in need of a few items to complete the build.

So we now have it back down with us and got to work on it right away. Pulled the cage out and pulled the body off.

We have to build a crossmember for the transmission and transfer cases and then we will pull every thing off of the frame too.

Loaded up on the trailer to start the body work!!

Its getting closer.

That thing is gonna look so sexy..

Looks good!...but I'm not sure I would trust that cage for a serious roll...

But, yes other wise I'll take 1 kthnxbye! :D

I don't get it? What is it that you wouldn't trust?

There is no back seat, this is not a "family cage" it's made to protect the driver and passenger and is well built to do that job.

Sorry, guess it just comes from having to scrutinize things structurally with school.

What I meant can kind of be illustrated in the picture:

I know there is some re-inforcement with the plating, but plating tends to cause big problems stress wise (can actually make things worse). I think I remember seeing something of the same sort happening to an east coast rig (styling is very much the same), but I can't find the picture.

Either way, just my $.02....but i'm overly critical. :D

So all the joints fail at the same time in a roll? I don't think so. Critical, not so analytical.

I think he is getting at the fact that the entire cage structure leans back. Normally you would have a cage lean in like this /---\ whereas this cage is like this /----/

I know a cheese dick way of showing it but I see what he is getting at. The rear spreaders don't seeem designed in a fashion as to prevent the cage from collapsing down on itself.

There is always someone who thinks they know better than the next guy...... This is an awesome project and this cage will work for what it is intended! Keep your negative comments to yourself! You do good work Justin but I am sure I can pick apart what is left of your XJ!! Many people have put ALOT of time into this project for the sake of our hobby!! Help us help you or STFU!!!

Wow dude, really?

And yeah, I can see what freerider is saying about the cage. That being said, I'm sure the cage is more than strong enough and safe enough. It is definately a different design then I've ever seen before and looks pretty cool.

I'm sure he wasn't in any way trying to be disrespectful towards those making the rig or discrediting their knowledge/work.

Maybe you just need a hug?

Geeze... It looks bad ass... But really That cage will protect. Its not a full out buggy and don't think it will see trails that it will be on its lid or side alot. I mean if it turns out way nice i wouldn't take it on the most extreme trails.

But I can't wait to see it finished.

You have not seen the cage nor do you know the guys who built it! It pisses me off when someone tries to piss on anothers parade! This project is being done to help YOU........... jwtrapper and many other awesome people have put countless hours, donations and cash into this thing for your benefit........ the least you could do is say thank you instead of pick apart something you have only seen in a picture here!

I wasn't the one picking it apart so calm down there check nuts, and quite frankly neither was freerider. Go eat some cookies and calm down.
