Hood vents will probably get done after NAC fest. Just waiting on some parts to build a new upper than align everything. Most likely going to try to rent a car trailer for the weekend unless anyone has one I can borrow or I can find a really good deal on one.

Actually took it for a test drive Saturday, drives like hell but it made it to the gas station and back...WOOHOO

Sweet!

Got my CB mic extension done a while back but haven't tested or installed it. Need to get going on those seat brackets, though, or the Jeep's not going anywhere...

Hello all, Registration will be up in the next day or two, we are having NACFEST so come 1 come all.
With this comes strict regulations that we must and will follow at the park and probably the camp ground, so lets show our best when the time comes.

Brackets have been cleaned up and coated in Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Used Rustoleum rust remover gel (phosphoric acid) after hitting with wire wheel/flap wheel on dremel, it did a nice job. Even solvent-welded the crack in the tilt adjust lever (scored a tilting base for the driver' side).

Just have to get the driver's side one installed now. Anyone got a part number for the seat mounting studs for the 94-and-earlier seat mounts? The two front ones on my driver's side are pretty bad, not sure if they'll be usable. Open to bolts too, but would like recommendation as to bolt spec to use (grade 5? 8? 10.9?)

Driver's side seat bracket is installed - now my driver's seat is not only securely anchored to the body again, it now has "kung fu" tilt action too!. Got pics to document the failed bracket, just haven't pulled them off the phone yet. Got a sore shoulder from wrestling with the bracket to get it in the truck (think the front mount on the "new bracket" was bent rearward, took some wrestling to get it down on all four studs), but having a safely mounted seat was worth it.

New CB mic extension appears good (unlike the first one, no whine when I key the radio) and is routed back in behind the trim/headliner. Need to test against another radio, which I'll do either this weekend or next. Hopefully my only problem is was my not having wired that extension right (dummy me, I didn't use the shielded pair in the first one I built), or I'll be temporarily running another antenna cable by ziptying it to the passenger grab handles for now - not enough time to drop the headliner and pull the left-side cargo trim out right now.

Seals, I'm having done in the next few days(more efficient, and I'm not feeling like fighting with the pinion nut myself this close to the Fest), and I'm deferring the fluid changes until after.

Have not touched the Jeep since last year, shops full and works busy so off to the mechanic tomorrow it goes for some weird noises. Then I'll pick it up and strap it on the trailer.
So ready for stupid stuff saturday!

Sorry to say there may not be a stupid stuff Saturday, maybe a toned down version. I won’t have a cage and I may or may not even have rocker protection.
This build is taking me to the wire.

Sounds like an invitation for someone else to take up the mantle (and no, not me - winning "most thrashed" once was more than enough)...
