2013 NWC summer campout

C'mon guys... I know there are more than 2 pics of Li'l Blue... please? lol

If anyone has more pics of black sheep please post them. I have tons of pics of everyone's junk but not many of my own.

Sorry, Dave... I wasn't in very good positions to snap pics... if you have some of Li'l Blue, I'd be indebted to ya! Had a blast being out with you guys, as always, and it felt GREAT to get some seat time in the little blue XJ...:worship:

Well my weekend started on Thursday. I was worried about spots so I sent a couple friends up early to grab spots (turned out to be pointless, browns camp was dead)
Tessa, josh, and I got to camp in good fashion. dropped the sleeper and made a plan for wood. we had a saw this time so the plan was to get a stack cut for the weekend right off the bat. about 2.5 into our wood run the monsoon hit, and didn't stop for a couple more days :( (been there done that) then next morning Keith showed up (mopar440) his plan was to stay fri-sun in the little blue iron tent. we were chopping wood and making breakfast at the time so we shuffled and made him some room. while sawing our wood we got a visit from the friendliest ODF worker I have ever met. so we all know its fire restriction through odf (thanks Kenny) with the down pour in place and the fire limitation signs marked in the green on the way up, we didn't think twice about it. this turned out to be wrong. I had to walk away from the guy before I lost it so I didn't get to hear everything 1st hand. but its like this, ODF says fire restriction, don't expect it to be posted. and NO those fire colored signs are not ODF, a least these odf... so even if it is Raining cats and dogs outside. don't run your chain saw in the forest. we were smoking ciggs at the time of the reprimand which seemed to be ok, and it is ok to ride a quad in camp. just don't run a saw. until the right ODF guy tells you its ok...

after a night of catching up and prepping for the next days fun we loaded up and made a plan for a couple trails. keith (happy to be piloting the jeep) wanted to ease into things plus we had more than the usual kid gambit. so 3 quads and 2 jeeps we headed out for university then to cedar tree.

ohhhh yeah!!!!

Thanksgiving, Right after dinner. Usually late Thursday till Sunday.

apon rolling into camp, we were met by the sight of the black sheep sitting not to far away. good to see this thing back out and about! thanks for bringing my camp stuff back dave! we were expectin torx and possibly another that night so we began dinner and fire activities. the rain was unrelenting and had taken the wind out of our sails for trail time, no night run would happen tonight :(

the next morning I herd a couple 4.0s roll into camp. Lary and Mojojojo had come out to play . after loading up the foods and kids(rod included) for the day we were off. in good fashion we stuck dustin with leading:cheers: no plan just shoot twards the nearest trail was the theme of the day.

the lineup

Larys photo Bomb. photo by Joshua, bombed by lary. nice job boys

Nobody wanted to play at crushers so we made the usual beline for hogsback and archers.

on the way we passed Airplane hill. rod lined up in the lower filter, felling like all my bugs had been worked out and having never attempted the filters I lined up, with torx behind me. This felt Awsome! thanks guys

well, then, rod pointed hit jungle jim at the ledge. dustin and I quickly ran up to take a gander, check out the lines w/e. NO there is a 6' ledge in the middle of the climb now, and it is undercut like a mofo! after looking it over and shaking our heads at it, rod says " Well, Lets make a day out of it..." we just stood with jaws in hand while rod went back for his heep.

After 10ft, and being back to square 1 like 15 times, it was evadent (to Debbie downer anyways) that "this might not happen" we backed him up and headed for the top filter.

part of the photo challenge was wheel stands. smiles were had by all

torx
IMG_20130907_141553_zpsa7ac2802.jpg

Mojojojo, belive it or not, rods first wheelstand on hogsback! this would be the theme for the day!
IMG_20130907_141642_zps710a67a1.jpg

Dave with no front locker would not be pulling wheel stands.

then the bumpy downhill bypass and on to waterfall. rod gave the left side a shot, a heck of a shot I might add. but in the end, it took his manhood... torx and I, after our success on airplane hill went to look at the left line. seeing rod, we went for the right line.

well it took my manhood too, torx made it up, not without considerable Pepper, and disregard for the nailsalon. way to be dustin. meanwhile I had bellyed out my junk trying to escape the lower filter. sliped down further and crammed my cat and muffler up into the floor, giving josh a nice self warming, vibrating, hump under foot. and now the front driveshaft makes contact with the down pipe as the driver tire droops.:nono:

we all limped back to camp. Rod had other plans...

headed for dinners, naps, pain killers, and whiskey. it was apparent that it was a good day! Gold cobra graced us with his presence, and brought with him the tipical camp fire topic. not having taken part in this yet daves wife fell victim to the antics :spin1:.

the next morning dustin had an itch that needed scratched some more and set off for more trails with larry and darin. needing to pull my driveshaft, out of fuel, and wanting to ride a bit more I decided to sit out sunday.

the kids gearing up
