It was a TON of work getting everything put together, it was a little of "play it by ear". thanks for rolling with it guys! but I must say, this was a blast! and it was worth every min of work, and the mission was accomplished imo.

we started the day getting the laptop out and setting up with trips of past playing. I looked away and the wheeling photos quickly grew to over 1800. we setup as couple custom motorcycles in the front and waited awaited the arrival of street pirate

after he arrived, we found out that aaron wasn't going to make breakfast so we headed out.

$5.00 all you can eat pancakes, links, eggs, and ham. coffee, juice, milk O plenty served up by the local cub scouts. its alwase good to see the firemen of the comuinity face to face, there also the ones lighting off the fireworks later in the night, it good to get them ryaled up for the festivities.

after we ate our fill we took a ride back and waited a bit and the rest of the crew started to show up. josh was running a little behind and trying to find BFE we startd decorating the jeeps and discussing our order and banner when josh showed up. with the most EPIC display of a banner EVER I must say. now we were all together and making the place look good

R&J mobility services is a small local mah and pah company that does wheelchair access and handicap work. this was a drivers sider wheelchair lift. both doors were fastened together with a bracket and looked to me VERY well put together.props on the R&D. It deserved a stop and look over for sure.

once we actualy got onto the road for the parade things went by fairly quickly I thought. we had the schriners behind us all day so we knew we would have to steal the show to get the rep we were looking for. after deciding the 4low drag racing and burnouts would probably be frowned apon, we were relying on the good ol jeep stack to get the job done.

IT WORKED! just after turning the corner onto the main drag aaron stoped on my drivers side and turned the tire out, I pulled up to him as you could hear the croud gasping, yelling, questioning, and slapping there spouces to LOOK! as I drove up for the a typical jeep stack. I got up and we hit the horns. the croud freeked! it was like a football game, or a consert or something. totally cool, they have never seen anything like that before.

it started to get a little hairy at times. people were running out into the road every time we did a stack to take pictures. hard to see with all the people.

when we got closer to the bigger intersections we started in on triples. they lost it. we were totaly stealing the show from the schriners.

So glad these two could make it. been a long time!

we had questions all day. whats naxja. whats a xj, pack it in pack it out, whats that? tred lightly huh? where can we find you, can I join, etc... Mission Success! we ate an amazing dinner that my dad slaved out for us.
when I say amazing, amazing! street pirate decided to stay with us as the others took off to fill there oblagations. no tentN it for street pirate I put him up in the sleeper. dan deserves it. we took up our spot for the fireworks, grumbled off the pains of dinner (fair food smell was rediculas at this point) and cought the show. it was decent, we had a great spot, but something dident seems right in the end of the show. come to find out. a box of mortars malfunctioned during the finaley. 100 mortors dident hit the sky, 100. so there guna light the extras off during the "hometown" fireworks Saturday :D

thankyou to all that came out and ran this with us. we had a great time and it was well worth all the hard work. and well worth it to have the gang come over to my neck of the woods for a change. well see about making it an annual event. I like the idea well have to see how the year turns out.

thanks again guys,
from me, Tessa, and Joshua.

Great pics John...... And thanks for the write-up.
and thanks to Tessa for all the picture taking!
It was a great day indeed. I had a lot of fun, and will be looking forward to doing this again next year.
Next time, I'm going to deck the XJ out with a little more celebratory red-white-and-blue garb for the holiday,
and have a bucket of candy to throw to the kids.....and a loaded squirt gun to follow through with!
Big thanks to the city of Independence for allowing us to join in on the parade....
And an extra special thanks to you John, for putting this together.....
I hope this turns into an annual event for the NWC, and I really hope to see much, much more chapter support next year.

It was an awesome time! During the parade I was feeling like I drove all the way down to get stuck in the worst traffic ever for 3 hours but hearing the crowd go nuts for jeep stacking was worth it.

lesson learned 1: renix cooling systems get testy when you idle for hours on end on a hot day. I spent most of the parade in neutral holding 1500rpms to keep the coolant flowing and temps at 210.

lesson learned 2: everyone should be jealous of bronze's sleeper.

lesson learned 3: Bronze's dad makes the best pulled pork I've ever had
(please post the recipe, all I remember was beer and bbq marinade, and two hours each of smoking, bbq, and baking in the oven)
