SoCalFest 2007 May 4 - 6, 2007.

Big Bear, California
Big Bear is located just 40 miles North East of San Bernardino, California in the San Bernardino National Forest. You can take highly 330 to 18 (330 connects to Interstate 10 in Redlands, CA) up from the South West, highway 38 from South East (38 connects to Interstate 10 in Redlands, CA), or 18 from the North (18 connects to Interstate 15 in Victorville, CA).

This is an official NAXJA event.

Required Equipment:
Solid recovery points front and rear (tow hooks, shackles/d-rings, receivers), first aid kit, fire extinguisher, snatch strap (no chains, no strap with metal hooks), spare tire and all necessary hardware. Additional equipment may be required for some runs at the sole discretion of the trail leader.

Camping/Lodging:
Camping is available at Serrano Campgrounds via Recreation.gov. Please request to be near the 86 - 101 loop, you can request specific sites from the website. Serrano has RV provisions.

Motel & Hotel lodging is available at many places throughout Big Bear Lake and Big Bear City.

Activities & Meeting Place, Friday
Friday will be our annual trail maintenance of 2N04 (Map of 2N04) with the US Forest Service.
The meeting point will be the Big Bear Ranger Station (see above) at 9.00 am.
After trail maintenance is done we may hit up some trails in the area depending on how quickly we complete our maintenance obligation.

Activities & Meeting Place, Saturday & Sunday:
Trail lineups will be decided at the event taking consideration to amount of attendees, levels of build, and local weather conditions.
The meeting point will be the Big Bear Discovery Center (see above) at 9.00 am.
There will be trails for all difficulty ranges the forest offers from stock to moderate/difficult.

CB Channels:
CB Channels will be appointed by trail leadership.

Trail Leaders:
To be determined at meeting points.

Meals & Raffle:
Saturday night we will hold a dinner and raffle as we have in the past. The meal will be hot dogs & hamburgers and will start at approximately 6.30 pm.

The raffle will immediately follow the dinner, tickets will be $2.00 apiece and can be purchased only at the event.

Meal prices will be announced at a later date pending calculations based on the amount of expected attendees.

Notes:
As always be prepared for unusual severe weather. Temperatures below freezing are to be expected during the late hours of the evening. Mild temperatures during the day are expected.
