I'm gonna say not intentionally. It looks as if it just crumbled under the snows weight. It was shattered on the impact side, as if it was rotten. I really didn't care, it was more or less in our way and made the trip UP very interesting. Pushing snow downhill is great fun, but plowing uphill just is down right scary at times.
The snow depth was less there when being compared at the top 5-10 miles back. Thinking (with knowing that) just made the trip back mentally challenging.
When I broke the snow at the top, took a breather, I thought to myself, "I want more, that hill climb was intense."
