Possibly going to a 8.25

I'm considering going to a 29 spline 8.25 in the near future

As far as the ABS is concerned I need some clarity...Through
searching, I have these preconceptions about the braking system:

1. up to 91, the brake system required the ABS pump to
help maintain pressure.

2. in 92, the brake system was fully "hydraulic" and pulling
a fuse to the pump would result in an ABS light, but the fact that
the pump is being disabled would not cause you to lose your
braking ability.

3. A non-abs Booster and master cylinder can and probably should
be swapped in eventually, but not required to get the rig
back on the road.

4. Brake line fittings are the same for a 8.25, as a d35, and should
bolt right up.

5. E-brake cables existing on the car, might need to be rerouted, to
get the proper length to be re-attached to the new axle. (this axle wouldn't come with e brake cables) This would not keep a rig from
being on the road, though, right? Just the mindset, that you don't
have an e-brake for the time being if you can't get to the re-route
in the same day/weekend? (again, it can and should be completed ASAP)

Do I have it all right?

thanks!

100% correct.

The rubber brake line at the rear is the same d35 vs 8.25 and just bolts to a different location (held down by the axle vent tube fitting, instead of on its own bolt.) If they have not been replaced recently on the new axle you should be considering forming and flaring new ones anyways - the minor cost and time required are good insurance against having an accident, and doing new brake lines is a lot easier on an axle sitting on the workbench/jackstands than it is on an axle under the Jeep. Just make sure you don't put the lines in a spot where they will be crushed by the U-bolts, form them to go over where the bolts sit with a bit of clearance.

I have been told you can pull the fuse under the dash it will still work, i have a 90 and thats what i am going to be doing when i finish building my 8.25.
