Pre 96 Tailgate on 97+?

I need to replace my tailgate on my 98 XJ and nobody has any around, but I found a 96 and earlier one for only 175.

How difficult would it be to mount up? Is it just different brackets or is it different size and shape?

Brackets and size and shape are different. It wouldn't fit without considerable fab work.

Not gonna work. Different size, shape, mounting points, etc.

If you really want to spend a lot of time doing fab work, go for it I guess.

damn. Ok nevermind then. lol. I'm ok with a little fab work but the "considerable" fab work is a deal changer.
