built my own roof rack saved a ton of loot

I decided to try and build my own rack. It was much easier than expected. I purchased a welder and gave it a shot. My weld are functional not beatiful.

total cost was $120 with paint

i thought about it but did not have a way to put a curve in the metal to mount the base to.

Didn't need a curve if you ran a base front to rear mounted to the the nutserts, and then welded standoffs to go up to the basket.....

I had planned on using both the drip rails and the factory nutserts for my rack, but so far, haven't seen enough of a need for one to make it.
