24h time vs 12h time.

On what? On a personal note, why?

Most computers "think" in 24-hour, and so do a number of people (myself, for instance) - and the 24-hour clock is quite simple and convenient once you are used to it. I think you will find that more people than you think prefer the 24-hour format for time (not a majority, sure, but enough people "in the right places" - like our beloved WebTeam...)

Military = Civilian Military = Civilian
0001 = 12:01 AM 1200 = 12 Noon
0100 = 1:00 AM 1300 = 1:00 PM
0200 = 2:00 AM 1400 = 2:00 PM
0300 = 3:00 AM 1500 = 3:00 PM
0400 = 4:00 AM 1600 = 4:00 PM
0500 = 5:00 AM 1700 = 5:00 PM
0600 = 6:00 AM 1800 = 6:00 PM
0700 = 7:00 AM 1900 = 7:00 PM
0800 = 8:00 AM 2000 = 8:00 PM
0900 = 9:00 AM 2100 = 9:00 PM
1000 = 10:00 AM 2200 = 10:00 PM
1100 = 11:00 AM 2300 = 11:00 PM
1200 = 12 Noon 0000 = 12 Midnight

Basically if it's after noon, add 12 (hours)

don't you mean subtract 12 hours after 1200? Or am I missreading something....

Nah - you just want to convert the other way.

If you are going from 12h to 24h, add 12 for afternoon. Midnight is 0000
If you are going from 24H to 12h, subtract 12 for anything over 1300.

Clear as mud, right? Going to the 24-hour clock is a bit of a mental shift, but my wife found out it was easier for her to learn it than wait for me to do the conversion myself (like I said, I think on a 24-hour clock anyhow...)

i know how to tell time and convert from military/24 h time, its just this is the only forum only that i subcribe to that is in military time or that there isnt an option to where each user can have their own preference.

i wasnt just wanting to know if there was a setting that i was just overlooking, or if the theres no option for different time styles
