2001 XJ shocks/struts

Not looking for anything radical. Just a nice upgrade from ORIGINAL stock ones that are on there now. The ride is getting rougher by the year. Any suggestions on what brand to buy for front and rear replacement? I was thinking Monroe, but not sure. Front are shocks and are the rear as well or are there struts in there somewhere?

It's got shocks front and rear. What year is your XJ, and I'm assuming it's still stock, corrrect?

Standard yellow and blue Bilstiens work great. Only $50 each.

2001 and yes everything is right from factory, never been touched.
