Magnefine external ATF filter location?

I'm installing a Magnefine filter on an ATF cooler line, and
am just about ready to cut a hose. Where do you guys mount
these puppies?

The best location appears to be on the return line, where the
rubber hose meets up with the steel line...?

(This would put it in the area between the steering box and the
harmonic balancer).

fluid should be filtered hot, for best flow thru the filter. Thus place filter up stream of the cooler. I attached mine to the body panel below radiator, secured with a hose clamp around the filter and thru holes in the panel.

the main thing is filter goes before the cooler.

I'll probably place it on the upstream line
then. Good tip for mounting the filter
using a screw clamp.
