Back of Back Seat???

I've got an idea for mounting a panel (various uses) to the back of the back seat. My plan would be to put threaded "nutsert style" inserts in the seat back and use threaded knobs to hold the panel to the seat back.
Does anyone know what material is directly under the carpet on the seat back? (Yeah, I've searched) I'm guessing 1/2" plywood. Would be helpfull to not have to dismantle the seat to find out (Hence the nutserts).
Thanks for the help!!!

No on the plywood...that's metal under there.

Yeah, it's a very thin tinny sheet metal. Nutcerts would probably work in a pinch although it might be better to just take the cover and foam off and use a nut/bolt combo if it's something you're going to leave on for a while.

Damn, never a shortcut when you need it!
That sheet metal feels pretty solid when your crawling around on it.
Guess the idea will have to wait untill I can pull the seat apart and weld the nuts in place.
Thanks for the info, I would have been less than happy after drilling into it.
