pretty early on to start a thread.. but I'm excited and I'm going to need some help and feedback

but anyway. this is my 93 base model 4.0 Aw4 np231
*my 3rd xj, this is the first one I'm building
*bought for $1000 (it sat for 2 years)
*towed for $180 b/c bad tires and non op
*regged for $220 because it wasnt non op? wtf PO
*smogged for $600 for bad fuel pump!!

so I'm in it for $2000 and it's still stock :puke:

Phase 1:: get legal (done), cooling overhaul, collect parts
Phase 2:: build your typical short arm on 33's trail rig
Phase 3:: throw some serious upgrades at this xj

I promise I will do some REAL work soon. cant wait to start wheeling!

I need some cheap 33's please let me know if you have a set for sale

dude i like that 8.8 for 300. thats a killer deal for that setup

zj fan clutch, heater core, 195 tstat, water pump, coolant, valve cover gasket $177 total

I HAD A QUESTION ABOUT THE FAN CLUTCH. Is it just the clutch or should I get a different fan to go with it?? thanks

did something fun today too. was looking at ways to vent hot air, and I decided I like the look of the cowl hood. so I decided to make one

my dad had to help with the welding. I cant wait to learn how to weld for myself

106.jpg

and here's where we left off for the day. still need to put a screen on it, clean it up, bondo, then I'll paint the whole thing black (for now)
I'm lovin the new mean look. and it'll actually be useful off road

very cool and very clever idea.

got some more work done on the hood today. will finish it later, got lots of engine work to do at the moment

added a bit to the sheet metal. should've thought to do this beforehand. I ended up measuring once and cutting twice quite a bit on this project.

110.jpg

all cleaned up

111.jpg

fits!

116.jpg

etching primer for now so it doesnt rust

112.jpg

YESSSS!! finally picked up a set of tires! set of 6 bfg A/T's!! $200!
I've almost collected enough parts. just need shocks, wheels, temporary tcase drop, and shackles and hardware

so lets recap, 4.5" RE short arm, 6 tires, a built rear 8.8, and an entire engine cooling overhaul for $1277

should be done putting everything together in 3 weeks time

117.jpg

look at that tread!

I like the build and that cowl hood is Sweet!! Those Cheetah print floormats are awesome!! My daughter would put those in her jeep in a second!! Keep it up..

Looks great man! You got a steal of a deal on that 8.8 too.

And that cowl hood is killer. I want to do the exact same thing when i get the time.

Keep it up!

thanks for the comments guys. I think you'll like what I've got planned for this DD/warrior
I did my valve cover gasket today. I will never try to work without a drop light again that almost turned into a nightmare

my overly excited self took this picture. I'm going white letters out, I mean look how clean that is with the blue. MEAT!! cant wait. patience...

Cool build so far. great deal on the 8.8 but should have looked for one with disk brakes as its night and day. But youll love the strength of the 8.8. as for white letters out i say no but thats my .2

Rammin, buy these to fund his build.
If Rammin doesnt get them, we should raffel them off at Sierrafest 2012!

those were immediately placed in my brothers honda. lol then I think they were tossed out

What brand is this? Is it a stock replacement or something else?

that is a durango steering box. I got it from blondejoncherokee so I'm assuming it's non-plow 98-99 4x4
