Sector 7 Racing #1786 race report for V2R

Being a small four man team, two in the Jeep and two on the chase, we had scheduled Brendan to drive from start to pit 4 (mm 159). The jeep ran great and clean with just a bit of heating issues. Pulling into pit 4 we decided to not change drivers just yet and continued on to pit 5, where John took over driving.

We were just racing the track, passing jeeps on the side of the race course.
MM 125 we passed 1729 in The 25 mph zone, MM 173 1717 was pulled over, Somewhere along the course we passed 1707, who looked to be done.
We realized at this point we must be in 2nd or 3rd. at mm 330 or so we passed 1798, who had rolled there jeep and had BITD taking care of them.

When we made pit 10 we were in first place. Somewhere along the line we had passed 1724.
All was great in the world until mm 340 where the silt caught up to us. I heard a jeep coming up and had a tow rope ready, 1724 blazed past through thre silt, and immediatelt stopped and through the jeep in reverse to line up with us, but with us buried deep, and his over heating issues he couldnt pull us out. So I got back to the sand boards, some time later 1797, and 1717 blazed by. Now we were in fourth, we were stuck here for about 90 minutes.

Again at mm 361 we got bogged down in the silt and wasted another hour or 2. We figure we lost about 4 hours total being stuck in the silt. Finally pulling in to pit 12 we were wasted and thinking of Throwing in the towel, After a 5 hours energy, a cold mc donalds cheese burger and news that if we finished we were garrenteed 3rd place if we finished the race, so we headed back out again.
Coming into pit 14 we had to wake up the BITD guys to pull us out that silt bed, the only pull out we got for the race.
Pulling into pit 14 we were just 30 minutes behind the 3 amigos 1797, and no word where 1724 was.

We took 3rd over all with a time of around 21 hours, with no mechanical issues other than a quick tire change in pit 8, and of course getting stuck in the silt. All that and being limited to a top speed of 60 mph.

A big thanks to our families for supporting this bad habit of ours, John M. and Roy G. for being a great chase crew.
Thanks to our sponsors;
Clayton Offroad Manufacturer, another race of non-issue (5000+ miles of race and test)
Vision X, for getting us through another full night of racing (Just cant out run these lights)
