Re: INTRODUCE YOU AND YOUR JEEP

New to the jeepspeed thing, but loving it. I started out building the xj for mud and trails and well idk i am just heading in a different direction. I ride the Silver Lake dunes all the time and love going fast so now i am here. And my xj is a DD so i really want a better ride as well.

this is the jeep about 2 weekends ago
silverlakeopeningweekend09021.jpg

It curently has a 4.5" full pack rusty's lift, with homemade 2" spacers up front and rusty's 6.5" fixed LCA's and lengthened stock uppers (going to be getting adjustables from iron man), and 2" blocks in the rear (part of the trail/mud thing i am going to be getting adjustable shackles from ironman as soon as he gets them made)

I have the rusty's 4.5" shocks in the front and did in the back until the weekend of the pics. I bent and broke both rear dog bone mounts. And i just ordered some RC Nitro 9000's for the rear. (i know cheep junk, but i am 20 and am a full time student, and they are better than nothing)

I am going to be getting a set of used RE DB's off of another NAXJA member in the next few weeks. And this summer i plan on getting some bilstien 5150's for the front. I have a long way to go and wont probably ever be out in cali in the desert but live only an hour away from the dunes so i am there all the time:)

Well thats it for now.

What are you guys at 6 to 6.5" of lift running in the rear for bumpstops? mine are just stock.

thanks fellas

now i gotta go get a mafia number

Im 19, live in Indiana, going to Vincennes University for Tool & Die, and CNC Programming. My Jeep is proudly my first vehicle and has been being built for 5 years now. Now sits with 6" RK springs, 4.88 gears, 8.8 rear, 35" BFGs. All body work, installs, and tube work done at home.

PICT0006.jpg

got any closeups of your rear fenders? how are they mounted?

looking good :D

I cut out the rear quarters and fender wells and a good section of the floor around the fender wells. I made custom wheel tubs, the fiberglass is held on with 3M Panel Adhesive, I used sheet metal screws every 2 inchs to hold the fiberglass to the body until it cured, then took out the screws and used filler to fill holes and blend in the fiberglass to the real body. I guess I need to do a buildup thread haha. Heres some pix...

Well thought I would post up here finally.
Me I'm Baja Curt. I live in the city of Orange in Orange County, CA.
I'm a member of Regulators Racing, winners of SCORE class 8 season for 2008.

Desert racing is my passion. And being single and a sales rep gives me the freedom to attend lot's of races :)
I've been to 7 this year (well if you include Dec 31)
I always bring my camera and sometimes am in the right spot at the right time. (right CrazyJim)

Here is a link to all my pics on Flickr
http://www.flickr.com/photos/bajacurt/sets/

My XJ is my daily driver and like I said I'm a sales rep so my vehicle is my livelihood. But that doesn't mean I don't go out and run the heck out of it.
I just know when to baby it and when to get on it (MOST of the time LOL)
Right now I have a 3.5 RE lift with 33" BFG AT and the RE monotube shocks. The 3.5 RE lift and monotube shocks are a great setup for the street but too soft for the go fast stuff.
So by Friday I'll have Deaver coils, air bumps, limit straps, drop brackets and Bilstein 7100 remote res shocks in the front and JKS boomerang shackles in the rear.
Next on the list are Deaver leafs and Bilstein 7100 shocks for the rear.
I already have the shocks just saving $$$ for the Deaver leafs.
Then it will be time to cut some holes for the shocks and maybe cage the XJ.
Let's see how long this thing remains my DD ;)

Anyways here are a couple pics of the Baja XJ and I'll post up some more when the front end is done.
Hope to see you at the next race!!!

Lookin' forward to seeing her in her go fast dress Curt!

Well she's only half dressed at this point cause I still need to do her rear end.
But here is how her front looks now.
I can't wait to take her out, play a little rough with her and get her all dusty :D
