Slight Bind from Time to Time in 2 Wheel Drive on Hard Pavement

This is on a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with select-trac transfer case. Occasionally I'll get what seems to be a bind, or crow hop as we used call it, if I make a hard turn in 2 wheel drive on a hard surface like concrete or asphalt. This does not happen all the time and only seems to happen on a real sharp turning of the wheel. Has anyone else experienced this? If so what did you end up doing? Axle u-joints on a quick inspection do not appear to be bad. Open to any and all suggestions.
Thanks,
Bill

Check the drag link, and the ball joints.

Those symptoms should make on suspect the axle shaft u-joints. Looking OK and being OK are not the same thing. Worn ball joints usually have unusual movement when inspected, or more often show up as unusual tire wear.

^^ this. Axle shaft u-joints. They are always moving with the front tires and steering wheel regardless of 2wd, 4wd selected on the transfer case.
