Leaving the Jeep world and entering the UTV world....

Nobody cares about your silly golf cart .!.. ..!.

Looks awesome man. I've been reading through your thread on TeryXforums too.

I've seriously contemplated strapping a set of golf clubs in the back just for laughs! :spin1:

Glad to see your putting this to good use. Any problems with it so far?

Nope, not a single one. I haven't had to put a wrench on it since I built it almost 2 years ago besides changing the oil and just pre-trip checks to make sure everything is tight. It's been a great machine, and surprises the crap out of me at what it can do.

Any plans to seal up the cab for winter use?

No, I just park it for the winter. Not a big fan of playing in the snow. But they do make an enclosure for it....looks like a bucket of ass, but it looks like it seals it up well.

I have had ATV's and UTV's for over 30 yrs. for the last 16 or so all have been Polaris. Our RZR has not been used other than here on the farm for over a year since I finished up the XJ. My wife always goes with me and now she refuses to go unless she has heat of AC plus the XJ is a lot more comfortable for the both of us for trail use, and we have a lot of local ones.

The UTV is nice on the farm for checking cattle and fence when in a hurry as we have a lot of trees to go through to check everything.

There are definitely pro's and con's to both. I wasn't sure I was going to "love" the Teryx when I bought it, so I've hung onto my XJ just in case I decided to go back to a Jeep. But after having the Teryx for almost 2 years now, I can say I don't really miss the XJ.

There has been a few times where it would have been easier being in a Jeep, but then I think back to all of the bad luck I've had with Jeeps, and how much time I've spent in the garage building, fixing, etc. and glad I made the move that I did. I got burnt out and got to the point where I didn't even enjoy wheelin' anymore. Now, I have all the time in the world during the summer to do other things, instead of wrench on the Jeep. With the Teryx if I decide to take a week long trip, it takes me 20 minutes tops to get it ready, go beat the snot out of it for a week, bring it home, wash it, and it's ready to go for the next trip.

My wife wasn't nuts about the UTV at first because you are definitely exposed to the elements, and a lot of times, she didn't prepare as well as she should have for the weather. But once she froze her ass off a time or two, she learned to pack a little more, and now she loves it....especially when I let her drive.

It's definitely not for everyone though.

My wife wants a UTV bad. Rented an RZR 800 this past spring in Moab and she's hooked.

That was the worst thing I could have ever done was drive one....I was hooked!

The shop we rented from, I met their mechanic who actually had just built a couple of Ultra4 / KOH buggies. He showed me around their KOH UTV - amazing. It had 16" travel 2.5" coilovers on all 4 corners..

Well the RZR1000 has 16" front travel and 18" rear travel stock.

I still need to get out in Nick's T4 with the wife and kid. If the we all agree its more fun than the Jeep we'll be making a switch.

The price of these things is still a big deterrent for me. I mean if you're beating a 20k jk it's not much of a change but they sure aren't cheap. Anyone know of ability to plate them ?
