Getting married in Moab

I'm getting married in Moab on September 26th and our honeymoon is going to be the 'Moab Fall Fling 2006'. Fortunately I am marrying a Jeep girl with her own modified TJ. We live in the United Kingdom but it was easy to convince her we should ship our Jeeps to the USA and drive them from east to west coast stopping in Moab for two weeks along the way instead of getting married here.

Almost all of the arrangements are set except for two. I have just applied for a 2-year NAXJA membership and asked to join the Intermountain chapter as I'm not sure what the other international members have done. We are likely to be back regularly - she's already caught me looking at Realtor websites! The other thing is, will Rachel be able to tag along in her TJ during the Fall Fling?

Ya know....you are coming from the UK to go wheeling with us. I dont think anyone will care what you are driving. If they do, tough cookies (mmmm, cookies). They wont have a problem with it though.

Have you already looked for hotels and such in Moab? Are ya going to be camping? Feel free to start posting in the IC. Think you can make our meet and greet next monday? :D:D:D The IC can also be known now as the International Chapter.

I will be living about 45 minutes from Moab come July, let me know when ya get here, I will be more than happy to go wheeling with you guys before the fall fling, just gotta see what my schedule will allow. I will do the best I can to go wheeling with ya though.

For those of you who know, you will now be known as the "UK Guy."
(Its an honor bestowed upon those who run with the Intermountain Chapter outside of a National Event)

i live in moab and would not have a problem showing you around at all, just make sure you plan your trip abit in advance if your moteling it cause they fill up quick.

Thanks guys. We've almost got everything booked already, flights, hotels/motels, permit for Arches wedding, even a Hummer tour for our guests. Just got to get a rental Jeep booked for my Dad. He's got an old CJ3B for a daily drive at home so a rented Wrangler is going to be a blast for him.

I'm hoping to get an extra mod done in New York before the drive over. Cash will be tight but the shortlist so far is for one of the following:-

1. 30 spline axles for the D35. a Detroit locker or a Auburn Ected. Easy buy and easy fit.
2. Ford 8.8 with an Eaton Elocker. Hard to find an axle by telephone and find someone in NY to do the work (Perhaps JD's in Brewster). Realistically, I think I blew the budget when I asked her to marry me. So I guess I can just dream about this.
3. Klune-V. Lots of fabrication required and same problems as (2). Now she knows what a Klune-V is, she wants one too so there's no chance I'm getting one now.

So what's Cody famous for then?

Well...I guess you're a sure thing for the Long Distance Award at the dinner/raffle. :) Congratulations on the marriage.

You should have joined the SoCal chapter. We are more internationally diverse than the IC.

I got married in Moab almost two years ago,, could not have picked a better place. My girl is a Jeep girl too, met her on a trail and she had her own Jeep..

We'll take care of ya over the Fall Fling. and yes, you can be an I.C. member!

I'm pretty sure it's already happened.

Only he was behind the camera. :)

$2350 return fare for a single vehicle.

In comparison it costs $2030 to rent a basic modified Wrangler for 14 days, stock gears, no lockers, 4" lift, 33" tires and absolutely no recovery gear. Add to that the fact that the hirer has to pay the first $2000 of any damage. I think insurance was an extra $30 a day.

Yeah, maybe so Derek. Now that I think of it, we only have a couple o' Asians and our resident Eastern European friend.
