New Years run

Saturday 12-31. I am going to go up and freeze all sorts of stuff off in the snow. I'm currently considering trying Strawberry Creek Trail, or Mormon Immigrant. Both are off 50. Heading up to Malakoff Diggins up by Nevada City is another option.

Who wants to go freeze with me? I ask that you:
-have good tow points.
-are not an asshat.

Having OBA or some other air source would be cool, as would a winch.

If by freeze you mean hang out in the +20* to +40* weather common in the sierra winters,
ill freeze with you - though i am an asshat

I concur.. :wierd:
I will be there if I can get my lazy ass off my ass...Or is that...?!?
Must get lift and tires and put them on my rig.
:speepin:

I am considering this trip. We shall see once it gets closer. Sounds more fun that wheelin the same stuff I been doing. Have any pictures?

I have run the Mormon Immigrant trail a few times, it is just a road that they do not plow or gate off (at least on the lower side)

tHAT LAST PIC LOOKED LIKE TROUBLE!?!

Yeah you are right it was more like this:

I look back and say "It is really deep over my bumper!" DJ in his white XJ says "keep going!"

I get another 50 feet and it is almost over my fender and I am done! DJ who was right behind me is now stuck too! I get out and walk down a Snowmobile track about 75 feet in front of us and snap this photo:

So we put a strap to the back of DJ's XJ and then one off the front of his to the back of mine:

took about 15 to 20 minutes to get us out, not bad and it was a blast!

Just for fun:

Me- "Yo DJ! Do something cool!"
47b4df22b3127cce853b89d9e1350000000610

DJ- "Like What?"
Me- "I don't know?"

DJ- "How about this"

DJ- "Now Help me out!"

Bump, yo.

Thanks for cleaning my garage!

I assume between the two of you kids you got the rig back together OK?

How is it riding on all 4 shocks? How about the rear driveline angle?

just a quick sweep...

Well - I got the 91 to run - turns out the Auto Shutdown relay contact in the relay pannel got pushed down and wasnt contacting the relay.

so even though i tested the relay and it was good, the conection there wasnt...

now all i need is a front tow point and this run will be mine!

I'm thinking really hard about choosing Strawberry Creek trail for this run. That way, if there's no snow, I might be able to do a little rock crawling. :D

Malakoff would be cool, but I haven't had a chance to call about the cabins.

You do NOT need a lift and tires for this snow run. Just tow points, mostly.

What, is it going to be just me and Opie?

And a little side scratching.

Details, please. I am still trying to plan the next week, I really need to know when/where/what.

When do you plan to meet and where ? Is it one day or two days ? If it's one day, is it 31st or 1st ?

either day is fine by me - i think im better off only going one day too...

Saturday 12-31. That'll let you get home and go to your New Years parties or whatever you need to do.

Meet at, uh, McDonalds at 50 and Howe, around 8:30 or so. That'll let us head up to Strawberry or Mormon Immigrant.

Oh yeah, having a CB radio would be cool too, but not necessary. Just nice.

Great, I'll try to be there.
By the way, which city is it in ?
I assume it's in Sacramento.

That's right, 50 and HAZEL. In Saramento, east of I5 and Hwy 99.

I don't think there'll be much snow at Mormon Immigrant, so I want to go up to Strawberry.

Looks like I'm going to make it to this run afterall. The weather forecast calls for rain and wind tomorrow. I talked to Phil and he said we're still on for the run, we may just go a little farther up the hill to go play if the rains is too bad. Hope to see you guys in the morning!
