The San Francisco Comical did not carry the entire AP article, but this guy showed gratefulness in an impressive manner.

I wonder if the vet I had the pleasure of meeting back in high school is still around. I'll probably never know but he was bad ass. Brought his M1 and his Colt .45 for us to see.
 
Any of the remaining WW-II vets are something different, and it sounds like this gentleman was even beyond that.

My father was an MP on Okinawa in 1945, he passed last March. Finally, for the last 10 years,when he was having a bad day and I was having a good one, I could finally keep up.

We should never forger what these people have gone through. :flag:
 
That's awesome.

My grandpa is 86, he served in the pacific as a radar man on the USS Satterlee.

I called him a couple weeks ago to real get his "story" and thoughts of wwII. It was one of the most amazing, and pretty emotional conversations I've ever had with him.

Amazing stuff.
