Well I need a new wiper motor for the 1990 XJ. The original motor is wrapped in a rubber boot. Naturally it fell to pieces during the removal. The service manual makes a statement - printed in bold - to be sure to not damage the boot. Of course the new motor does not come with the boot. Does anyone know how critical this covering is? I guess I could make something similar out of an old inner tube. Any insight will be appreciated.
