Survival story...

I thought about posting the same thing...:confused1

It pays to be prepared, and of course, they were.

That is one lucky family. At least they had a place to stay for the time being.

When I camp/hike I include the following in my pack:
GPS(which doesn't always work)
5 Protien bars
Water purification tablets and Gatorade 32oz bottle.
Packets of sugar
A hatchet
A large knife
20+ feet of rope
An orange shirt(you can be spotted easily with that on)
Wool socks
Water/windproof matches
Shiney space blanket
Cottonballs smothered in Vaseline
Cell phone
2 small Ikea candles
Tie strap
Regular matches
Pencils
Magnesium block
A shotgun when necessary (I go places where there are possible MT. lions, wolves, bears)
Other little things that could be used

All of this could be discussed at the survival camp/classes.

I'm glad they are all right...that snow really had them...but did you notice that none of the family seems to own a toothbrush?

after 17 days that had to smell pretty bad.

That's probably due, in part, to there drug habit history. :D Arizona didn't waste any time on issuing warrants for the two eldest ones in the group. Sucks to be them...

Maybe they weren't even lost. Probably hiding/tweaking out. After 17 days they must have run out.
