Johnnie Walker's MJ project

To aide in the project process, I bought a new DD for $500.
This is Shelby.

97 Honda Accord SE. 192k pretty much every option minus leather/power seats.

Got the windows on my MJ tinted at a local shop. They had a sal on the the 3M Crystalline tint. Doors are just 'Cali legal' basically no tint but heat reduction is good. Back is 20%.
In the couple times I drove it since, I notice a difference. It's a non-AC truck so everything helps.
Now to find a sun visor that fits the windshield

Been a while since I have updated this. Got my WJ 30 swapped in. Mostly plug n pray.
Things that need be addressed are..
Track bar, draglink, sway bar mounts, and possibly LCA mounts ( xj/mj/tj/zj are more narrow)

And proper wheels/spacer/adapter.

I used washers to take up the space in the LCA mounts. One could use WJ LCA..
Modified a spare RE 1660hd trackbar.
Removed sway bar for meow.
Already had JK wheels. No more wheel adapters.
For steering parts, I used off the shelf moog TRE, tie rod and drag link.
Drag link is too long. I wanted to go with some thing stronger anyways, so it will go when I get my new links.
I will measure and confirm angles of TB/drag link but looks good far as I can tell.
I did not notice anything out of the ordinary while driving it home.
My steering box leaks bad. Have a reman Lares box on the way. If I need to 'fix' angles and hear box throw I will swap in a WJ pitman arm.

Trans swap to come soon. Hopefully next month.

Update, she got some paint this last weekend. Steering fixed other than a fluid leak. Still 2wd, but that is probably the next project.

#necropost haha

We just removed the trim items, taped/covered what was not going to be painted. Then we hit all the paintable surfaces with some 320 grit on a da sander. Then used the Krylon "Khaki camo" color paint in aerosol cans.

It was windy, so it's not great. But the paint when on decent for the most part. Used 10 cans.
We were going to primer, but said f'it.

I didn't paint the jambs or under hood, or the inside of the bed. Probably, going to do some bed liner or just black inside the bed.
Looks great. How did you go about painting it?

Thanks for the compliments.

Def glad i came apon this, i got a long bed i plan i painting some time soon and didn't know 100% how to go about it but this put my fears to rest. Thanks.

Keep up the great work, looks awesome.:flame:
